My internship is though ENLACE which stands for ENgaging LAtino Communities for Education, and it is a New Mexico is a statewide partnership of people based on a process that empowers these communities to find their voice in the pursuit of social justice and educational access and success. Through this program, I am one of nine students from the whole state hoping to gain an exciting experience and a new look on governing. So far, I have already experienced exhilarating events. We had the opportunities of meeting the state governor, Susana Martinez within the first few hours at the Round House (our state house), followed by an inspirational talk from Lt. Governor John A. Sanchez, and ending with a warm and caring discussion from Patricio M. Serna, current Justice for the New Mexico Supreme Court. Afterwards, Justice Serna gave us a private tour and showed us things attorneys don’t see, an exclusive experience.
